scrap to be used — as here, where drying shrimp paste, and
vegetable plots, exist amidst houses. In the right foreground, drying
mats lean against the tiled roof of an old village building. The
broken down walls (centre left) may be from bomb damage, as the
Lamont Docks, across the anchorage, had been targeted by Allied
